Garney has completed the installation of the deep 24-inch gravity sewer on Alta Vista.  Next week, Garney will set the last (4 of 4) deep manhole in the intersection of Alta Vista Street and Pomelo Ave.  Today, Garney activated the sewage bypass pumping system that will pump sewage around the manhole at Alta Vista and Pomelo Ave. So, all flow is now flowing to Lift Station 87.  Once the manhole is installed, the bypass system will be removed and Garney will begin laying the 8-inch sewer on Pomelo Ave (May 17th to May 27th).  Due to the narrow street and the depth of this pipe (16 feet deep) Garney will start work at 6AM and stop and 10PM (May 17th to May 27th).

The watermain on Osprey Ave has been connected to the water system and the house services moved to the new main.  Starting Monday, the curbs, aprons, and Irving St / Osprey Ave pedestrian improvements will be completed.  The trench will be patched on Osprey from Alta Vista Street to Bahia Vista Street.  The target date to have Osprey (and the bridge) open to vehicular traffic is 6/11/21. Before that date, Osprey will receive the final asphalt overlay from Bahia Vista to Bay Street.

The City of Sarasota Public Works Department is installing new mast arms and traffic lights at the intersection of Bahia Vista and Osprey Ave.  This work will be complete prior to the repaving of Osprey Ave and reopening to full vehicular traffic.

You say that the target date for the reopening of Osprey Avenue is June 11. I’m sorry to quibble, but the target date for Osprey’s reopening has already passed, as the announced reopening when it was first closed to traffic in September of 2019 was March 31, 2021. So THIS target date is no less than the second target date. I also notice the use of the word ‘target’, meaning something to be aimed at, although not necessarily hit.
